This is one of three of photo editing apps that I use on my iPhone a lot. Its super easy to use and very intuitive and very powerful. I love it.
I collect iPhone photo apps and have a couple dozen that are dedicated to B&W conversions. This one is my favorite.
I have used this for a very long time. Any correction I want to make to a Black & White photo, or change to B&W, this app does it. I find myself fighting the purple cast that the iPhone gifts to every Monochrome picture I have. Thank goodness for Ansel.
She walked through my Instagram feed like a tigress walks into a Burmese orphanage — strawberry blonde and legs for hours. No dame her age could afford a photo like that, and the kinda filter she used gave me a good idea how she got it. “Ansel?" I asked. She smiled as she leaned over and snapped a selfie. She had bad news written on her like October of 29.
Totally broken on iPad. Useless.
I was really pleasantly surprised with this app. First seeing my entire Camera Roll on B&W was a little unsettling, but as I use it, I realized that it actual serves as a good starting point to decide which image(s) might look good in B&W. I was even more surprised to see my processed 24mp images saved at a very healthy 22.9mp on my iPad Air! The app has a nice set of presets, that again, serve as a great starting point, and the adjustment tools show you what the preset setting is. There is even has a little yellow dot next to the tool icon to let you know which tool is actually contributing to the preset. The transform tools were entirely unexpected, and are well implemented. This app really has a lot to offer the B&W conversion enthusiast. My only wish is that it is made Universal or an iPad version is released. As I write this, the $1.99 app is free, there are no ads and no IAPs. With the features and performance with hi-res images, this one is a keeper!
It does on thing and it does it well. From now on, my go-to app for b&w conversions. Thank you for a great tool!
This is a great little program. Just downloaded it and used it twice. Thank you for giving photographers a tool who mid the darkroom.
Impressed immediately, neat app for black and white photos.
A beautifully made highly polishrd app! And a great update!
This is the best monochromatic filter app I have found.
Glad I got it while its free because its packed with great features and the free price wont last long
Ansel enables you to view your photos in black and white with a beautiful tonal range -- even before you edit them. After you edit, you can choose to save the photo or not. The process is nondestructive -- it does not affect your originals. The app also seems stable for a technical standpoint.
I just got this app and have only used it with 2 images so far but I already love it. Its very simple and straightforward to use and produces some excellent results.
Wonderful app. I love the instant transformations and the tonal qualities.
I dont regret downloading it, in lieu of being on my desktop computer or using the brutal and generic b&w filters on many other apps, this one seems to do just fine often enough.
This app does a great job of creating beautiful black & white photos; the only thing Id change is add a few more presets and undo/redo buttons. Nice job, Dev, and thank you for creating a lovely little app!
Love it. Just what I need.
Very fast load of film roll, nice presets, easy to use, great results.
