I used and still love the Simply Black and White app, but Ansel just streamlines the adjustments and makes for a quick transition to desaturate an image...check out my images at @brianzink on instagram

Excellent user interface with easy to use controls. The results are better than any other B&W photo conversion app. Highly recommended.

The controls are simple to use. Would like to see a save a copy feature.

Love the design and workflow--very few filters, which is good! (More choices means less work done). And theres no redundancy in the included filters. Each one is very specific. Plenty of editing tools, including grain and an option to transform perspective.

Seeing all your photos in black and white is cool. Simple to use.

Ansel cannot open photo library and do not get reply from developer

I like to convert a select group of my iPad photos to black & white. This is first app that does a great job with converse and adjustment.........

Cannot open the app, looks promising but I havent been able to use it. Please fix it!!! Until then just 2 stars.

Didnt spend much time with it, pestered me too much for a review so, heres the review. Update: Returning to the app it asks for a review yet again. Just lost another star.

Im new to editing photos, but this looks pretty cool. But the only reason Im reviewing it so soon is that a message box keeps appearing after each photo I edit. For a better review, I suggest waiting until a person has had a chance to use it more.

Nothing great. It just desaturates the image. Take a look at Snapseed.

I love this app !! Exactly what I was looking for.

For the price, this app is nothing short of amazing. Readily converts my color images to black and white, without loosing the crisp detail and sharpness embedded within each image. Editing tools are easy to use, and intuitive. Having come of age in a darkroom and shooting lots of plus-x and tri-x film, this is a fun reminiscence. Thanks

Opens your photo album with everything converted into a black and white preview. Love that it does that. I find these editing tools most excellent. I am usually very happy with the final results. I use this in tandem with a few other apps, when needing a bit of a different feel. I always start my editing process here in this app. They have been consistent with new updates and adding in new capabilities. I look forward to the evolution of this app. This one is a keeper.

Fabulous. . . a great fast way to see your photos in black and white. a bit jittery on ipad.

Definitely worth it if you want to convert your photos to black & white. Intuitive to use and lots of flexibility. Highly recommended.
